Electromechanical and Optical Systems Department
The Electromechanical and Optical Systems Department is involved
in programs ranging from concept design to prototype fabrication of special
mechanical systems. Primary technical areas include automated electromechanical
systems, miniature mechanisms, optics, electronics, special-purpose packaging,
rapid prototyping and selective laser sintering, and custom and injection
molding. Precision fabrication and machining facilities are available.
Department personnel also have experience in microelectromechanical systems, or
MEMS. Capabilities are organized into the following broad program areas:
